1: This site
is best viewed with the Microsoft Internet Explorer Browser, however it
will also work with Netscape Navigator and some others.
2: A screen resolution of 1024 X 768 pixels is the best resolution to use without having to scroll left and right. There are a couple ways to set your monitor for this resolution. A: If you are running Windows, you may have an Icon located on your task bar at the bottom right of the screen, that looks like a small monitor. Right click on the icon and it should show what resolution your monitor is set for. Choose 1024 X 768 True Color (32 bit) or 1024 X 768 High Color (24bit) . 256 color will work but you will not see all of the colors the way that they are meant to be. B: Another way for Windows users to reset their screen resolution is to first minimize your browser window by clicking on the dash [ _ ] at the top right. Then right click on your desktop or got to Monitor listed in Control Panel. When you right click on the desk top a menu will pop up. On that menu choose " Properties ". Next a window will appear for "Display Properties" . Click on the settings tab and you will see what resolution your monitor is set at and what it is capable of being set at. Set your display for 1024 X 768 High Color or True Color, if these choices are available. NOTE: In many cases this may require your computer to be re-booted. If that is the case you will have to re-boot and then get back online with Shadow's Alley. 3: If the Text on a page is to small or to large for you to view, you can change the size of them by clicking on the Font Size Button at the top of Internet Explorer. It looks like a Small "A" overlapping a Larger "A". Medium is the default size for Shadow's Alley. 4: To look for a specific event or subject on a page of the web site, especially the Events Page or the Links Page, there is a nice feature built in to the Internet Explorer Browser. EXAMPLE: You want to find an event on the events page that is for a particular type of vehicle. First click on the " Edit " button on the toolbar at the top of the browser. Next click on "Find (on This Page)". Or to skip these two steps depress the "Ctrl" and "F" keys on your keyboard at the same time. A window will pop up that will allow you to enter a word that you want to find. Choose the direction you want it to look, either up or down. Also choose either "Match Whole Word Only" or "Match Case". Usually Match Whole Word Only is your best choice. Next Type in any word such as Chrysler, Ford, or Corvette. Then click on the "Find Next" button. It will take you to a specific point on the page where that word is located. NOTE: You may have to move the small Find Window out of your way by Clicking and Dragging the window to another area of the screen. |
