April 22 2008

The April meeting opened as usual with the Pledge of Allegiance;

Thirty Three members were in a attendance;

The first order of business was the reading of the the treasurer's report:

A motion was made and seconded for approval.

The first: first new business was the further discussion of the planning for our Annual show at Lee Town Park.

A meeting was held Rite Aid to continue   the planning of this event, Everything seems to be going in the right direction.

The subject of a food vendor: Being Dinosaur Barbeque had been discussed at a previous meeting.

After the recent meeting with Rite Aid they are totally booked with other events, They will not be able to attend our function.

Dave Strange: Was more than willing to be our main food vendor, and the possibility of others for a variety.

We are also looking into possible discount rates for vendors, making an overnight stay, at local Hotels/ Motels.

Miles spoke of committees need to work this event< and how vitally important it is to have as many bodies to help pull this off.

We need a total group effort.

The best way to get a group effort is to practice:

What I mean by that is by signing up for Friday night cruise in's we can work together,

We can gear up on a smaller scale.

Friday night cruise ins will be in the mix here shortly, We will need those volunteer's to pull it of also,

We have a core of people that always seem to be there, We need the unexpected others to show up, "What a great surprise that would be.

If you are timid as to what you might be doing don't be, We have a great crew to show the way,

I invite anyone to have some fun, Making an Ice Cream float is one way.

Just talking to people there is awesome, What a way to meet new friends and revisit old ones.

Some ideas were passed around about a possible donation of a dollar or a canned good for the unfortunate people in need.

We do this at the end of the season, But these people need attention year round.

At the meeting we were updated on the progress of our club jackets, They will be ready in May for pickup.

Some at the meeting opted to pay a deposit, or pay in full for there's

Also at the meeting were the static cling Club Window decals, They are a dollar a piece.
PS: Anyone who bought a sticker at the meeting. Please bring them in for an exchange. When you peel them off the backer they are transparent

and are supposed to be solid colors. The stickers are now fixed and we have replacements for those that were printed wrong.

A suggestion was made that at our annual event those that are on committees carry and I.D, card so someone with a question will have someone to go to.

Four Seasons In Marcy will be starting earlier this year,"They plan on some T.V. coverage with Joe Kelly filming,

The exact date is not clear yetOldiez 96 will be there for there events, Those that go there know they have a good time,

This is on a Wednesday night, and of course We love going to Dave's Diner on Tuesday night's.

May 31st-June 1st Ft Stanwix Fire Dept is having a Fund raiser, This a display of Cars only, But they would like to have us help them with this event,

for a good cause,  Great Idea close to home, Good for our neighbors.

We need to keep that in mind,

Also the sign up sheet for the Nationals in the Toyota building will be at the May meeting; we have twelve at this point signed,

we can sign ten more.

But please keep in mind if you sign please show, for the sake others may have wanted to.

At the next meeting we will be looking to fill the vacant board positions,

We have five names so far to vote on for these positions.

.That concludes the high lights of the April Meeting.

There is a busy schedule ahead of us, Let's do our best to work together.

As always to our members who are sick, have fallen sick, or have already recovered from there illness’s, We wish you all the best.

To not name those in particular for fear of forgetting someone, We wish all the best of health.
