The April 5 meeting was called to order at 7:17 PM by the President with the
Pledge of Allegiance. 23 Members were present.
CNY Car Show Association
- The Indoor Show had a Good Crowd Early on Saturday and a Fair Crowd on Sunday,
but on both days the Crowd Died in the Afternoon.
- Big Truck Show at the Fair Grounds Memorial Day Weekend.
Treasurer’s Report given by Miles;
- The Books are in Audited and the Checkbook Checks Out.
The Check Book was Audited by Lysle Parker, Jim Esch, and Jim Brady, they reported
that they Found many Fees being Charged by Bank of America.
- It was Discussed and Voted on to Switch our Banking to Americu Credit Union.
- 66 Members have paid their Dues for 2011.
- We have 30 Shirts, 12 Hats and 106 Stickers Available to Members.
- Rite Aid has Not Cashed our Donation Check. A Motion was Passed to Stop Payment
on the Check.
* The Treasurer’s Report was accepted by the Membership in attendance.
Old Business
- An E-Mail for the Club has been setup – rockininthepark@gmail.com.
- It was Decided to Support the MVCC Aviation Fly-In May 21 and Display
Some Club Cars. There is going to be a Fly Over at Noon. There will be a
Military display of C-130, C-5, Chinook and other Helicopters. 10AM – 4PM.
New Business
- We have Not heard about an Invitation to the Rome Home Show.
- hotrodhotline.com Website is a Good Site for Car Guys and Gals.
- St. John’s Church has a New Priest Coming in, He is a Native Roman.
Preliminary word has it that We have nothing to be concerned about.
August Show
- Jim went to the Soprano’s Club Meeting, and met their Trophy Supplier, He stated he
could Supply us with nice 1st, 2nd, and 3rd Place trophies for $50.
- We have not heard back from Family Dollar Regarding Sponsorship, Nice-N-Easy
Could Not Sponsor us at this time.
- Jim is Check with Price Chopper about Sponsorship.
- The Website Form is Up to Date.
- The Number of Car Classes has been decreased to 20 Classes.
- Show Flyers, Hummel Office Supply can not do our Flyers, nor are they supplying the
Paper.
- Dark Room Unlimited might have some leftover Picture Backers to give us.
- Elliot has Agreed to Shot the Photos of the Cars as they Enter the Field, a Back Drop
Banner should be Discussed. Also, Rick Aiello’s Brother Volunteered to Help.
- We are checking with Staples on a Picture Printer and Paper Ink Combo, for the
Pictures of the Cars as they Come in past our Banner.
- We need to Make Big Signs for the Park Entrance.
- Miles is checking on the dumpster for the Show.
- We have the Entire Park this Year, the Family Reunion is not going to be there
This Year.
News
- Jim Mortis is having Health Issues, Get Well Jim.
- Myles Higby, a Rome Auto Shop Owner and Auto Enthusiast, his Shop Burned
the End of March, He Lost his Shop, Tools, Dogs and Race Cars. There is going
to be a Benefit at Casey’s Tavern May 7, 1- 6 PM.
- The June Tappet Twirlers Meeting will be at the Lee Town Park, Due to a Play
taking place at RFA.
A motion by Rick Aiello, Seconded by Roger Girouard to close the meeting. Motion passed.
Meeting closed at 8:15PM.
