December 14, 2007

The December meeting was held for the first time at Herbie's restaurant on the 4th.

The meeting opened at 7:00 pm with President Rick Aiello.

The first order of business was the reading of the treasurer report, from Miles Thompson

An in depth detail of the financial statement was gone over; the report was motioned, and second to accept.

A motion was made to extract funds from our account to by Christmas wreaths, to be given away at the Christmas party, a second was accepted.

Dick Bronson was the member responsible/ who volunteered to do this. In conjunction with the wreaths he also made some hand made sleighs to be given to the ladies in attendance at the Christmas party, He also made other wooden articles for giveaways.

Another order of business discussed was our web site,

We need to maintain it quarterly with Rich Zawaly, to keep up with on going events.

Which brought up the discussion of the Club Bi-laws, on our site it says coming soon, a discussion proceeded, and was determined after the holiday season, this matter would be resolved. It's a good idea so everyone is familiar with the body of the Club.

In the absence of Marie: Regarding dues: Dave Esch / Brian Getbehead; will be the contacts for receiving dues, they hold the receipt books, as a reminder the dues have increased to twenty dollars, must be paid with in the first three months of the year, If you cannot see either of these members, you may mail a check / money, to our mail box. This is addressed on the front page of our web site.

The next order of business was the discussion of money that was voted to go to the W.W II.

Veteran’s trip. of $650.00 a letter was received stating that they appreciated the thought, but did not need to accept our offer at this time.

We had discussion within and came up the idea of splitting the dollar amount in two:

$325.00 was for the Welcome Hall

$325.00 was for the development of the Kennedy Arena.

Motion made and seconded.

Another motion was made to add one hundred dollars more to Coaches vs. Cancer/ from the previous agreement/ reason being was if we added the dollar amount, Bob Murtha would add $200.00 of his own to make an even $1000.00 donation.

Bob has a personal reason for his actions.

It's a very touching Endeavour.

The motion was seconded.

The next order of business was discussion of the annual show.

Many thoughts and ideas were brought up:

First thought was where we were for the past two years at Bellamy Park, and what was our benefit, and what was our downfall. The biggest concern was "Space" do we have enough?

Not all of us realized that actually cars turned away because of this.

A couple of ideas were brought up

One being: returning to downtown.

The second being: pursuing the event at Lee Town Park

Both ideas were brought to a motion.

Both motions were tabled,

A committee of board members was going to make a trip to a board meeting at the Town Of Lee December 11 @ 7:30.

Prior discussion with the Town of Lee had already, been pursued, by Dick Bronson/ further discussion with the Lee Town Board was with Bob Benzing.

The Town board accepted to meet with our car club.

We need to act on a site ASAP as there has to be notification given to all those involved.

That will be done at our next meeting: Which again will be held at Herbies@7:00 which was voted on to continue to hold the meetings there,” many members shared a meal from there menu and enjoyed it."

That meeting will take place January 8, as the first Tuesday will be New Years.

The members that normally attend the Central New York association meeting will not be attending the January meeting, any new developments from our meeting that concerns there meeting will be forward via e-mail, This being the possibility of a location change for our event

They will start the summer roster and will need dates locked as soon as possible.

They will also need names and addresses from those working the Syracuse nationals, so they can as they have in the past reward those who gave there time with admission tickets.

You may bring that with you at the next meeting, our give me a call, e- mail me. Jim Rasmussen

That pretty much covered the meeting at hand, there were several ideas left on the table to finalize at the next meeting.

Part TWO: The Christmas party.

What a success!!

Our hats off to Leonard Johnson for organizing the event.

What a meal!! Corn, Scalloped Potatoes, Ziti, stuffed shells, fried chicken, sausage and peppers, salad rolls, baked ham, Wow!

I counted 75 members that signed the guest book, there may have been more, my guess was in the 80 range, I know one to two more tables were added.

A special thanks to Rick Aiello’s brother, Ray, for entertaining us with the music.

Even though we had another guest with us, Bob Cain from Oldiez 96. I think we kept him busy eating, He was very thankful for the invitation,

Our sleigh maker/ gift maker Dick Bronson; had numbered each sleigh on the underside, those numbers were put into bowl, as they were drawn the ladies with matching numbers received either one Dicks hand made gifts, or one of the wreaths.  Either way they were beautiful!

Thank You for the time and effort you put forth Dick!!!

One thing some of you may or may not have noticed, was Rick our president accidentally turned directly into one of the support poles near the bar, Banged his head and now has a black eye," IF ANYONE HAS A PORTER HOUSE STEAK " he could use it. Just a little fun Rick!!!

Rick also thanked our out going board members for their service, Dennis Berry/ Leonard Johnson. Dennis will pursue our photography needs, and Lenny will be feeding us with new ideas and concerns.

Rick welcomed the three new members to the board.

Dick Bronson/ Bob Benzing, and Jim Rasmussen

As always all of our members certainly have say in what we do!

Rick thanked the entire club for their efforts this past year, everyone’s involvement made this year a complete success!!

Lots of ideas for the New Year, any and all accepted. WE LOVE WHAT WE DO!!

Turning the attention now to a different subject.

Jackets for our club were on display at the Christmas Party for those there to get a head start in the process. Great idea to bring them Lenny! Those that couldn't be there will obviously get the chance to get theirs.

Another message was relayed to me;

Bill Fazio's wife Sue is recovering from recent surgery!

We as a club wish her the best in her recovery,

And Bill you will have to pick up the slack in the meantime!

And of course we still need to keep in mind Marie our secretary, I know she can now receive E-mail I have tried her normal e-mail from our site, no response yet, I am not sure if there's a different address, if any one knows different please forward it so we can all know.
