A brief note from Rick Aiello…
I would like to apologize to everyone that attended the January meeting.
Please realize that this is not the way our meetings usually run. It is my
sincere hope that all this is behind us so that we can focus on the future of
the club. My concern has always been to do what is best for our club and I ask
for your help in making our future brighter. Thank You
The monthly started at 7:00 p.m. at Carbone Ford
Due to circumstances at the last minute: The meeting was moved from the Lake Delta fire house to Carbone Ford, unfortunately there wasn't enough time to notify everyone.
Those that did get the message thank -you for your participation.
The meeting opened with the Pledge of Allegiance
The treasures report was read: Noting the expenses paid out: Postage
Christmas giveaways, ect.
They were motioned and accepted.
Miles also brought up the subject of having the financial books audited for: It takes two members to audit the books: Lyle and Brian E volunteered to do this.
The next order of business was the continuing discussion of the annual show
slated for Lee Town Park,
An informative meeting was held with Rite Aid to discuss classes, financial,
advertising, trophies, a mutual agreement was made. This meeting was held the
week before our meeting, so we were able to bring to the club further
developments.
Everything is in forward motion;
To all those who have had involvement, we Thank-You
This subject continues to be some what overwhelming, to belief that we were
handed this opportunity.
We learned a valuable lesson:
The expense of this lesson was learned also.
My personal apologies for those that this expense was taken on.
There's nothing more important than working together, we are a PROUD GROUP
we love what we do.
We love our hobby.
We have succeeded in the past with Bumps in the road.
We have to remember the oldest statement I can think of:
THERE IS NO "I" IN TEAM!!!
BUT: There is an "E" in We____
I am sorry for being a little forth right here.
Just look at the basis of our country that we are so proud of; WE THE PEOPLE!
We the people of the Tappet Twirlers will work together as a group.
United we stand!!
I hope everyone takes this in content to believe in ourselves.
We need everyone's commitment to peruse our great hobby.
Anyone who cares to make comment on any of these statements set forth can
contact me Jim Rasmussen: for I am the one making these statements
From my observations and beliefs.
I love this club and the fun we have, I have learned so much about this
hobby just from being with a great group of people!
I think I am making this letter kind of personal, only to hope that others
will agree with my way of thinking.
We had a great summer this past year, our Friday nights went very well, We had a group effort.
We now have to concentrate on the Friday nights, They are not that far away!
WE NOW HAVE A NEW MEETING PLACE!
This came about through Robert Augustine;
He presented the option of using the Polish Home on South George Street.
He confirmed the fact that it is available, a motion was made and accepted to
do this, starting this coming meeting in March. As we did with Lake Delta fire
dept, we agreed to donate a monthly pay out for the use of the facility.
Be prepared to start forming committee's as we did last year for our up coming events.
It worked well, I believe it gave everyone a break to enjoy an evening with family and friends.
We also need to comprise a list of members wishing to attend the Syracuse
Nationals using the Cargil building.
I am sure some of us have received applications to attend.
So you know they are well on the path of organization.
And as I have stated in previous letters they have in the past allowed us 25
spots in the Cargil building,
With respect and consideration; if you intend to sign up. Make an effort to
utilize the spot in the building, In the past few years many signed up an only
a hand full showed up.
Those that wish to get on the list will be provided at the next meeting--and
will be there until the May meeting: this will give everyone three months from
this point on to decide.
Any car that is 1986 and newer wishing to be part of the Nationals must be
assigned to the Cargill building.
They can not be on the field,
Speaking of the Nationals, the past months meeting in Syracuse we were unable to attend due to the weather moving in at the time. I did get some feed back from there though in reference to the cruise down Onondaga park way prior to the opening of the event, There may not be a parade this year, I don't have the complete details as of yet. More to follow.
At this point we are still waiting to hear back on the progress of the "Club Jackets" maybe by this coming months meeting?
And also we hope to have Kurt Stewart back to commit to our Friday night's as our food vendor," Jamie's Place"
We also would like to follow up on the "Static Cling window decals for the club members.
I have to know shift to a more sad part of this news letter;
Some of us may or may not know:
Members of club recently had loved one's pass away.
Our sorrow and sympathy goes out to them:
Jeff Bryson
Paul Strife
Jim Mortis
We are deeply sorry for the loss of your loved ones.
Also please note that a member's wife is in the Hospital. Tony Grago and girlfriend Lori were married this month and just two days later she suffered a brain aneurism. She was transferred from Syracuse to Buffalo to await surgery to try and repair it. Please keep them in your thoughts and prayers.
Anyone else with illness or hospitalization;
I would like to know about so that well wishes may be extended,
An inquiry was made at the meeting of Tommy Squires, to the best of our knowledge he is on the road to recovery.
Our apologies to those that we may not have acknowledged.
If any one has any forwarding information please contact me Jim Rasmussen: So that we are aware of any pertaining information.
With this I conclude this month's new letter.
There again I inputted my personal thoughts, I believe in this organization, I believe in the Hobby, I believe in the friends I have gained.
Jimmy Rasmussen
