The February 2 meeting was called to order at 7:08 PM by the President with the

Pledge of Allegiance. 25 Members were present.

 

  -   The President is sending out a Letter to Businesses seeking Sponsors for this       

       Summers Friday Night Cruise-In’s.   A Draft Copy was Passed around.  If you know     

       a prospective Business Sponsor, let Jim know and He will send them a Letter.

 

  -   CNY Car Club Association – Several Tappet Twirlers Members attended the January

      Meeting.  CNY is presenting  4  Awards at the Syracuse Nationals for Heavily Modified

      Cars. 

      A Sign-Up sheet was passed around to sign up to work the registration desk for the

      Syracuse Nationals, July 16 – 18, 2010.  If you are interested in helping and can not attend

      our meeting, contact Jim Brady to sign up.

      The Tappet Twirlers Dues have been paid to the CNY Car Club Association.

 

-         Shadow has updated the Tappet Twirlers Web Site.

-         If you have a updated picture of your car and would like it on the web site, E-Mail it

     to Jim and he will get it to Shadow.  Remember You MUST be an Active Member.

  -    It was agreed by the Membership in Attendance to remove the BY-Laws from the

       Web Site.

 

  -    By-Laws - Several changes have been discussed and proposed, mostly grammatical.

       Bob Augustine made a Motion to approve the changes,  2nd by Dave Esch, and Passed.

       The Proposed changes will have a Ratification Vote by the Membership at the March

       Meeting.

 

Treasurer’s Report given by Miles;

  -  There is One paid Sponsor for the Friday Night Cruise-In,  John’s Auto Restoration.

  -  We possibly have 3 others interested is sponsoring a night.

  -  The Check Book was Audited by Lysle Parker and Jim Esch, they reported “all is

      well.”

  -  49 Members have paid their Dues for 2010.

     * The Treasurer’s Report was accepted by the Membership in attendance.

 

Old Business

-         If the Rome School District has a Snow Day the Day of our Meeting, and the Cafeteria

     is unavailable the following Tuesday, then that Month’s meeting will be cancelled.

The Board of Directors will still get together at sometime during that Month.

*Agreed upon by the Membership in attendance.

-         Cruise-In Sponsor Plaques are done with the Exception of the Brass being engraved.

-         Jim is going to get with Kelly on when the Show Flyers will be going out.

-         We are going to be Updating the Membership List soon, so get your Dues in as soon as

possible to remain on the active list.

 

New Business

-         We will have a Raffle of  $1000  for the August Car Show.  400 Tickets to be sold,               

$5 per Ticket.  1st  prize $500,  2nd prize  $300,  3rd  prize  $200.

*Motion by Jim Esch, 2nd by Rick Aiello, motion Passed.

-         Goodie Bags will be packed this Year by Rite Aid.  Anybody that has an Item or Idea

that can be Donated would be greatly appreciated.

-         T-Shirts to Sell during the Friday Night Cruise-In and the August Car Show was discussed.

If you have an Idea for a Shirt it will be discussed further at the March Meeting.

  -   Miles will attend the Lee Town Board Meeting to solidify using the Lee Town Park for the

       August Car Show again this Year.

-         Rome Home Show – A Club Display was discussed and tentatively agreed upon - a Sign Up Sheet will be passed around at the March Meeting.

-         Roger Smith volunteered to act as the Bereavement Contact Person for the Club.

-         March Indoor Show at the Syracuse Fairgrounds, March 27 & 28.

-         Brian Esch has volunteered to organize the Clubs Historical Items.

 

News

-         We received a Thank You from the Rome Rescue Mission for our Donations.

-         Our Donation to U.C.P. made print in the Utica OD and the Griff.

-         Carbone GM is possibly having a small Car Show sometime this Summer, we will

update as we hear.

 

A motion was made and seconded to close the meeting. Motion passed.

Meeting closed at 8:05PM.

 

TIP – If your door lock freezes up and you do not have Lock Deicer, you can use

          Hand Sanitizer.  The Alcohol will melt the ice.
