November 6, 2007

The first order of business. Was the reading of the last meetings business, with treasury report. After the report was read a motion was made to accept.  Motion made and accepted.

The next subject; Was discussion of the up coming Christmas party, Leonard Johnson who has been coordinating the event, told the group the contents of the party's menu. There will be an Italian Buffet, with sausage, peppers, macaroni, dessert, bread, coffee/ soda.. All the good stuff we like, there will also be a cash bar for those, who like a little wine with there dinner. Members with paid up dues are guest of the Club, any person attending that comes as a guest will be asked to pay $15.00 as in the previous news letter. We expect that payment prior to the party,  so we can have a relative count for Katie & Carl's to prepare the proper amount of food. We greatly appreciate everyone' s cooperation.

The next order of discussion was that of our Secretary Marie.

As some may know and those of you who do not. Marie has accepted a job through her work that is going to take her to the country of Afghanistan for six months through a military operation. This job consists of financial aid to the troops in helping the soldiers get their pay caught up with, their current locations, we have heard on the news how often soldiers get deployed and their pay lags months behind, to their waiting families back home. Of course many of the members of this club have talked with Marie, expressing the concern for her personal welfare, We are all very concerned about the area in witch she will be in, also the concern for her personal things back home that are left behind .Several people have offered solutions to protect her belongings in her absence. We would like to send her off knowing that everything is OK at home. I know as a group/club as individuals we wish her the best. We just want her to know she has a lot of friends in Rome NY .

In respect; I have been asked to fulfill the duties of secretary in Marie's absence. Marie was our collector of dues, If any of our members that would normally pay their dues through Marie, can now pay Jim Rasmussen in her absence. I can be reached either at my work; Auto Zone next to Block Buster, or my house, 6626 Seville DR ,which is off of Bishop rd, off of Elmer Hill rd. Three contact numbers are/ work 336-844 cell 250-5348/ home 336-2853. I hope to maintain an interesting newsletter in her absence. Any one can e-mail me with anything they think is important, interesting, funny, what ever they think I may have missed that could be incorporated in the letter. Thank-You "Jimmy" Rasmusen

The next information shared was the amount of Tabs collected for" Meg" Larry Nattarelli gave us a total that was unbelievable. 500 lbs of tabs had been collected. That equates to be 37- 5 gallon pails. That is just awesome, Keep those tabs coming in, we will take Baggies full. Cans full, Truck loads anytime. I know Larry will take them, I will take them, what a great cause for simply removing a top from a can.

Meg as a group we sincerely care!!!

Congratulating; To the three new board members elected. and the returning unopposed seats.

Thank you also to those vacating board seats.. Your service to the club has helped make it what it is today.

We as a group look forward to another great year as the Premier Car Club of Rome N. Y.

As a special foot note; Any and all concerns can be forward to any of the club officers, as we as a group will respond to any concern.

The next subject for the evening was ; Club Jackets; Paul Valerio, presented the club with a couple of styles
that could be easily be used with our club logo. catalogs were passed through the group to verify specific type and color configuration, The offer was made on a individual level as far as quantity, we do not have to buy
per say 80 jackets to get the priced offered, we can buy 1,5 20,30, whatever, the price remains the same.

Paul: said he will make sizes available for trial, Once he compiles that information each Jacket will be custom embroidered we each members name on the front, the turn around time was extremely fast once he has the set he needs to start the operation. I believe the cost per jacket as in the mid $60.00 range
Overall a great deal, especially on an individual basis.

The members in attendance agreed.
Jim Rasmussen made a motion to accept the offer
Larry Nattarelli second the motion
All in attendance agreed.

The next business was possibly moving our meeting to another location with No monthly payment from the club account, what was suggested was Herbie's on Lawrence St. There will be no fee for the use of the business for our meetings.,

We agreed to have the next meeting at Herbies for a trial run possibility.

Because this is a business we have been asked to buy a cup of coffee or a soda, food will be offered to order will include Hamburgers and fries, Spaghetti and Meatballs and Herbies famous Mushroom Stew

A motion was made to accept/ and second.

A Thank You letter was received from the Welcome Hall for the ice cream that was delivered after the picnic.

With the up coming dues: We need again to up date our roster of members. With collection of the dues we NEED e-mail address's, We " The Club" Would like to cut the cost of mailing news letters . We would like to be able to mail news letters to those whom do-not have computer. Those that have computers, that don't wish to give out there e-mail address's can read the news letter on our website.. With today's rising costs we are trying to save a buck for things, events, that we can all enjoy. Please try to cooperate with this request.

Al information concerning the up date of the roster will be forward to Brian Getbehaed
as again he has stepped up to the plate , Thanks Brian

As a reminder information is needed with the receipt of dues, Thank You

Again the subject of new club banners, and static window stickers to identify club cars and members,
Anybody who is shopping the Vinyl Graphic world that come come up with a price and availability is encouraged to present their information, Through what ever channel. It would be nice to see a uniform group with static stickers in their cars, There again some of the cost may defrayed, With money we can save with postage, " FOOD for Thought"

That concluded the meeting for November,

One other note Rumor has it that Fred Lamont who won the fifty/fifty may buy someone a coffee!!
Congratulations Fred.

A trip to the monthly meeting in Syracuse, Consisted of Larry Natterelli, Rick Aeillo, Len Jonson, Dick Bronson,
and Jim Rasmussen.

The meeting consisted of further development of the Right Coast Association and the Central New York Car Club Association to work to together to keep The Nationals a great event to be a part of.

Larry Natterelli was nominated as one of the Central New York Association board members. He will be our contact and information, into the development of the clubs of the group involvement with up coming events.

The Central New York association is also looking into the possibility of a Super Cruise for Charity, involving as many of the clubs in the association of which there are some fifty plus. Numbers could exceed $20,000.00 The best thing for this is the possibility of this happening at home, We will be exploring the possibility of using Lee Town Park, We are one of the few that have that kind of room to support that kind of event. We will do what we can to support this event, we have already had support from a local fire dept. if this happens. This would be great!!

Further information can be obtained from the Central New York Car Club Association web site, which can be accessed through our tappet twirler web page by clicking on the Car Club Association logo.

Looking forward to seeing a lot you at the Christmas party,

Hope all have a Happy Thanksgiving.

"Jimmy Rasmussen"
