October 2006 Newsletter

 

 

·                    43 members attended the meeting held on 10-3-06

·                    The club received a “thank you”  card from Logan for the $100 RFA scholarship

·                    The club received a “thank you” card from Fred Lomanto for our $10 gift while
            he was hospitalized

·                    The 6:30 p, board meeting determined that the following business needed
            membership attention:

o                   Amount of donation to Church for Friday Night Cruise ‘In

§                     It was decided that the $250 spent on improving the structure on
            Church property would be viewed as a donation

§                     The club is $205 “in the red” for the Friday night Cruise ‘In events; the club
            members in attendance agreed to this status report

o                   Amount of donation to charity from Rock around the dock

§                     Several charities were nominated to receive money from the Rock around the
            Dock event. A vote was taken and the results are as follows (members were asked
             to vote for their favorite TWO):

·                    Several members requested to have the Treasurer’s Report detail read at each
            meeting. The treasurers’ report was voted on and accepted.

·                    A proposal was made to discontinue the newsletter because of the tremendous cost to the club; the motion was voted on after a discussion and overturned. If you want to help save the club considerable money $$$ by receiving your newsletter in cybertronic format, please email Marie at MGauci@twcny.rr.com

·                    8:15 pm meeting adjourned.

 

 

Calendar of Events

·                    October 14th : The Town of Waterville has invited the Tappet Twirlers to their
             “rebuilding” event. We will meet at St. John’s at 10 am- see you there!

·                    November 1st, 2006: The deadline for submitting dues has been extended. Please
            send $10.00 check per member to the PO BOX listed on the front page.

·                    November 7th, 2006: next club meeting

·                    December 8, 2006: Michelle Danti has accepted the chair for the upcoming
            Christmas party to be held at The Beeches in Rome, from 6:00-12:00pm

·                    Event Committees and their chairperson always need volunteers:

 Members can advertise their business for the goods and services they provide.

·                    Thompson Scrap Removal: towing available by flatbed truck; removal of cars,
            trucks, metal, and appliances. Large jobs done by quote- call 335-9680 or 337

·                    Batcave Auto Reconditioning: complete detailing on daily drivers, show cars, race
